About the Role

Join Estancia La Jolla, a AAA Four Diamond hotel renowned for its Southern California ambiance, where the stewardship position plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness of dishware and kitchen areas. You will be responsible for sanitizing dishes, glassware, cookware, and utensils using proper equipment and procedures. Additionally, supporting the team cafeteria setup and upkeep, cleaning kitchen zones, organizing supplies, and managing waste in accordance with health and safety standards are essential duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishware, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans to meet hotel cleanliness standards using specialized dishwashing machinery or other cleaning tools.
• Conduct quality inspections of cleaned items to ensure they meet hygiene requirements.
• Clean walls, floors, counters, and cutting boards regularly or as directed to preserve sanitary conditions.
• Place cleaned dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in designated storage locations.
• Replenish supplies such as food items or utensils at stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars.
• Handle kitchen waste disposal properly, including grease and chemicals, ensuring compliance with recycling and safety procedures.
• Empty and sanitize trash containers and maintain cleanliness in waste collection areas.
• Always adhere to food handling, sanitation protocols, and health regulations.
• Wear required safety gear, including non-slip, oil-resistant footwear, and follow all safety procedures.

Requirements

• Prior experience in hotel stewarding is preferred
• Ability to stand for extended periods and handle moderate lifting and pushing tasks
• Flexibility to work morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as operational needs dictate
• Experience in a hotel or resort environment is advantageous
