Job Overview
The Steward I role supports the Stewarding Supervisor and Food & Beverage outlets by maintaining cleanliness and order within the designated areas. The position demands physical stamina and attention to detail to ensure smooth kitchen and service operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort soiled dishware properly for dishwasher processing and efficiently wash and store these items.
- Maintain and operate dishwashing equipment, including burnishing machines, adhering to hotel cleanliness standards.
- Polish and remove tarnish from silverware ensuring they meet visual standards.
- Clean cooking equipment like kettles, tilt skillets, pots, and pans thoroughly and promptly to assist kitchen staff.
- Adhere to attendance policies, maintaining regular availability.
- Perform additional duties as required to support the team.
Qualifications and Skills
- Familiarity with service ware maintenance to enhance guest experience.
- Capability to maneuver service carts weighing up to 150 pounds, with or without accommodation.
- Able to safely transport heavy items, including hand carts with goods up to 200 pounds, through busy environments.
- Good verbal and written communication skills tailored to different audiences including supervisors and coworkers.
