Steward (Full-Time)

Position Overview

This full-time role at Marriott International located in Waikoloa, HI, involves operating and maintaining various cleaning equipment such as dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors. The steward is responsible for washing and sanitizing kitchen and storeroom areas, including tables, tools, knives, and equipment, ensuring all wares are cleaned to high standards and stored appropriately.

Key Responsibilities

• Use detergent and sanitizing chemicals at the 3-compartment sink to clean dishes thoroughly.
• Inspect and organize cleaned items; return soiled items for re-washing if necessary.
• Rack and spray all items with hot water to remove food residue.
• Sort, soak, wash, and rewash silverware as needed.
• Break down dirty bus tubs and maintain cleanliness in trashcans and dumpster areas.
• Perform cleaning and mopping in designated departments and dispose of glass safely.
• Break down cardboard boxes and place recyclables in designated bins.
• Comply with all company safety and security policies; report hazards, accidents, and maintenance needs promptly.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with others, fostering positive relationships and teamwork.
• Adhere to quality standards and assist with other duties as assigned by supervisors.
• Physically capable of moving and lifting objects up to 50 pounds and performing tasks requiring standing, sitting, walking, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping for extended periods.
