Overview
The Post Oak Hotel, recognized as the only Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas, is currently looking for a Steward to join our team. We value passionate and professional team members dedicated to delivering exceptional and authentic guest experiences.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare workstations by filling dish machines, verifying chemical levels, presoaking dishes, and gathering required equipment prior to shifts.
- Scrape and rinse all dishes properly, operate dishwashing machines according to manufacturer instructions, and store clean dishes in designated locations.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, properly handle and dispose of kitchen substances such as grease and chemicals.
- Inspect equipment and machinery to ensure proper function, and promptly notify supervisors about any hazards, emergencies, or security concerns.
- Empty trash cans when full, transport waste to designated areas, and comply with recycling policies.
- Set up and monitor pot sinks following established protocols.
- Thoroughly sweep and mop kitchen floors after meal periods and spills.
- Monitor water temperature and chemical levels continuously during operations.
Qualifications

- Minimum of one year’s related work experience; prior experience in hotels, luxury establishments, or Forbes-rated properties is highly preferred.
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent; certifications or college education are advantageous.
- Basic proficiency in reading, writing, and arithmetic.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical abilities required include regularly lifting up to 75 pounds, standing for extended periods, and performing movements such as bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, and reaching overhead or below the knees.

Compensation: This is an hourly position paying $15.00 per hour. It is a tipped position; however, no tips are earned in this role.
