This position is based at Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara, part of Minor Hotels which is a global hotel owner and operator with a portfolio exceeding 530 properties across more than 50 countries including Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian Ocean, Europe, and South America, operating brands such as Anantara, Avani, Elewana, Oaks, NH Hotels, NH Collection, nhow, and TIVOLI.

Role Summary

The Steward role focuses on upholding high cleanliness and sanitation standards within all kitchen zones, including utensils, cookware, tableware, and related equipment. This position ensures a pristine, orderly, and safe kitchen environment facilitating seamless kitchen and food and beverage operations.

Primary Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean and sanitize all kitchen utensils, pots, pans, and equipment.
• Maintain the cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, and workstations to appropriate standards.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling from designated points properly.
• Operate dishwashing machinery competently, ensuring optimal performance.
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels for cleaning chemicals and supplies, reporting any deficiencies promptly.
• Support kitchen and serving staff in arranging and dismantling buffet or banquet setups.
• Adhere strictly to hotel safety and sanitation protocols, including safe handling of chemicals.
• Organize and stack cleaned dishes, transporting them to correct storage locations.
• Handle all kitchen equipment cautiously to prevent damage and breakage.
• Perform scheduled deep cleaning duties such as cleaning ovens and grease traps as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Completion of high school or equivalent qualification is preferred.
• Previous work experience as a steward or dishwasher in a hospitality environment is considered beneficial.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and sanitation guidelines.
• Physically hardy with capability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods.
• Collaborative team attitude with effective communication skills and a positive demeanor.
