Steel Fixer

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Steel Fixer to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting structural drawings and reinforcement plans to accurately cut, bend, and position steel reinforcement bars according to project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and understand structural drawings, reinforcement plans, and bar bending schedules.
• Cut, shape, place, and fix steel reinforcement bars as per project requirements.
• Use binding wire and appropriate tools to assemble and fasten reinforcement bars securely.
• Install reinforcement for structural elements such as columns, beams, slabs, foundations, and walls.
• Ensure proper spacing, alignment, dimensions, and maintain adequate concrete cover.
• Operate steel cutting, bending, measuring, and tying tools safely and efficiently.
• Inspect reinforcement assemblies prior to concrete pouring and make necessary corrections.
• Collaborate closely with carpenters, concrete workers, supervisors, and other site personnel.
• Handle and position steel bars safely while adhering to construction site safety protocols.
• Maintain tools in good condition and keep the work environment clean and orderly.

Candidate Requirements

• At least 2 years of practical experience working as a Steel Fixer.
• Proficient in reinforcement steel fixing and tying techniques.
• Ability to read and understand basic structural drawings and bar bending schedules.
• Skilled in steel cutting, bending, positioning, and binding processes.
• Experience working on reinforcement for beams, columns, slabs, foundations, and walls.
• Competent in using hand tools and steel fixing equipment.
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors at construction sites, including work at heights.
• Willingness to work overtime and function effectively within a team.
