Role Summary

We are hiring a Staff Researcher to join our Mitigation Platform team based in London. This key position supports Wise's objective to develop an open and equitable financial system accessible to all. The Mitigation Platform team builds core infrastructure that enables internal teams to design, launch, and refine mitigation workflows efficiently and consistently across various regions and requirements.

Main Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to uncover unified and team-specific needs in mitigation workflows to guide platform development.
• Define and drive research direction, including shaping escalation processes, platform flexibility, default experiences, and integration of AI and language models within agent workflows.
• Lead comprehensive research to provide actionable insights that influence product strategies beyond the immediate team.
• Maintain strong partnerships with squads while contributing to a community of over 20 researchers to share knowledge and continuously enhance research quality.
• Negotiate and influence senior stakeholders to prioritize user-centered decision-making and elevate product quality.
• Utilize AI thoughtfully to speed up research and contribute to intelligent product features.

• Exceptional systems thinking and sound judgment to adapt research methods to ambiguous or focused project needs.
• Ability to design and conduct mixed-method studies that yield precise, actionable findings.
• Proven ability to scale research impact across multiple teams and senior leadership levels.
• Strong storytelling skills to link operational complexity with user outcomes effectively.
• Capability to formulate and adjust research strategies aligned with business objectives while tracking relevant success metrics.
• Experience coaching and mentoring non-research professionals to produce high-quality research.
• Comfort thriving amid uncertainty and rapid shifts across diverse product domains.

• Demonstrated leadership within tech/product UX research, not primarily market research or academic experience.
