About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Technical Program Manager to lead critical programs and enhance our practices for delivering exceptional customer and merchant products. As our product offerings grow in complexity alongside our accelerating business, you will be instrumental in advancing our program management frameworks to support quality software development while exploring new technological opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complex, multidisciplinary technical programs aimed at expanding our consumer product suite and platform capabilities.
  • Collaborate across engineering teams and non-engineering stakeholders throughout the entire program lifecycle to define requirements, identify risks, manage schedules, and ensure clear communication with cross-functional partners.
  • Gain a deep understanding of technical architectures, suggest alternatives, prioritize effectively, and cultivate technical and domain expertise.
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering teams to ensure alignment and smooth program execution.
  • Monitor progress, address dependencies, evaluate risks, report status to senior leadership and stakeholders, and motivate program teams to reach their objectives.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field or practical experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience managing complex technical programs.
  • A strong commitment to transforming consumer finance in a positive way.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strategic mindset for collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Detail-oriented while maintaining the ability to deliver projects on time.
  • Experience leading strategic initiatives and fostering a culture supportive of remote work.
  • Proven mentorship abilities to enhance team performance.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex, large-scale technology applications and distributed backend systems.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills spanning Engineering, Product, Design, Analytics, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Previous experience in FinTech, Payments, or Commerce is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this role in Canada is $153,000 to $213,000 CAD. Affirm's compensation model includes a transparent and straightforward pay structure that considers location, experience, and relevant skills. Total remuneration may comprise equity awards, monthly stipends for health, wellness, and technology expenditures, plus comprehensive benefits.

Additional Information

This position is remote-first with flexibility to work from most locations within the country of employment. Some occasional in-person work may be required. All new hires are invited to participate in an in-person onboarding experience.
