About the Role
SailPoint leads in cloud enterprise identity security, providing solutions that help organizations control digital workforce access precisely. Join an innovative engineering team working with mature, cloud-native event-driven microservices hosted on AWS. The Staff Software Engineer will work within the Platform team, delivering foundational backend services for SailPoint's SaaS identity security cloud offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality, robust, maintainable Java or Golang microservices.
- Design features and provide rough effort estimates per product requirements.
- Collaborate with peers through design discussions, code reviews, and testing to ensure quality delivery.
- Write unit and end-to-end tests to maximize code coverage and reliability.
Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of professional software development experience.
- Proficient in Java and solid experience with object-oriented programming principles.
- Thorough knowledge of modern SaaS architectures including microservices, event-driven designs, and distributed systems.
- Effective communication skills to understand requirements and present technical solutions at appropriate detail levels.
- Self-driven and motivated to advance work independently with minimal supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
Preferred Expertise
- Experience working with AWS cloud services.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog to define and track service-level objectives.
- Understanding of distributed data processing frameworks such as Snowflake, Airflow, or Apache Flink.
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence concepts is a plus.
- Experience with Go programming language is advantageous.
Success Milestones
- Within 30 days: complete onboarding, understand product and technology, establish development environment, and begin initial tasks.
- By 90 days: independently contribute enhancements and fixes, collaborate with multiple stakeholders, and assist less experienced team members.
- By 6 months: lead small projects, participate in resource planning and backlog refinement, resolve complex system issues, and support critical system operations including customer interactions and system improvements.
