About The Team

The Billing Team pioneers transformation in business pricing, billing, and invoicing management. Their objective is to develop a scalable, transparent, and seamless billing platform that not only supports Airwallex's growth but also empowers clients with flexible pricing strategies and intuitive invoicing solutions. The next-generation billing system is designed for effortless integration and adoption to provide a robust billing experience globally. This engineering team collaborates across Shanghai and Singapore to automate pricing and billing workflows in diverse domains such as GTPN, PA, Scale, Issuing, and Spend.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of Airwallex's engineering systems.
• Collaborate closely with business and product teams to gain a thorough understanding of requirements, perform system analyses, architect solutions, and develop core functionalities ensuring high-quality complex system designs.
• Develop components within the company's microservices framework.
• Introduce advanced technologies and innovative approaches to enhance the team’s capabilities.
• Oversee the technical team's growth and enforce best coding practices and standards.

Candidate Profile

Minimum Qualifications

• Over 8 years of experience in Core Java development.
• More than 5 years working in internet applications, large financial systems, or e-commerce platforms.
• At least 1 year of hands-on involvement in payment platform development.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• Expertise in Java 8 including multi-threading, high concurrency, IO/NIO, and network communications.
• Familiarity with common design patterns and experience in designing and building large-scale distributed, high concurrency, high load, and high availability systems.
• Proficient with server technologies optimizing service response times and data queries to maintain service quality and solve concurrency challenges.
• Experience working with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Knowledge of HTTP, TCP/IP protocols, and REST API standards.
• Proficient in build tools such as Gradle and Maven.
• Working knowledge of Docker clusters.
• Understanding of JSON and XML data formats.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in international clearing, settlement, or foreign exchange operations.
• Fluency in English.
• Familiarity with databases and platforms like Cassandra, Redis, NoSQL, or Hadoop.
• Programming skills in Kotlin, Scala, Python, Golang, or R.
• Exposure to container orchestration technologies like Docker Swarm or Kubernetes.
• Frontend knowledge including JavaScript, Angular, React, or CSS3.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Aliyun Cloud or AWS.
