Role Overview

We seek a Staff Software Development Engineer to join our Identity & Access Management (IAM) team in Bangalore. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Engineering, you will contribute to managing digital risk by integrating security through identity controls and workflows, collaborating with product and business teams to develop application integrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and enhancement of identity management solutions within Zscaler.
• Design and implement scalable and efficient backend services and APIs primarily using Java.
• Ensure robust code quality by creating and maintaining unit, integration, and performance tests.
• Monitor, debug, and optimize system performance to maintain high availability.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams in an Agile/Scrum environment, participating actively in sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Contribute to on-call support rotations ensuring platform reliability and compliance with federal regulations.

Essential Qualifications

• Basic understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience utilizing or securing AI-based solutions within your domain.
• Expertise in enterprise Java, object-oriented programming, systems architecture, RESTful API design, and frameworks such as Hibernate and Spring.
• Working knowledge of CI/CD tools and processes for continuous integration and deployment.
• Hands-on experience with SQL databases, especially Postgres.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes, along with experience on major cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AIOps, AI-driven predictive scaling, or automated anomaly detection to enhance cloud infrastructure performance and reliability.
• Strong grasp of DevOps automation workflows and CI/CD pipelines, with container orchestration expertise.
• Understanding of Identity and Access Management protocols such as OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, Federation, or Single Sign-On (SSO).
