Staff / Senior Test Operations Engineer - OSAT

Job Overview

This role entails providing comprehensive Test Operations and Engineering support following product manufacturing release. The objective is to achieve operational excellence by enhancing cost efficiency, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), yield, and cycle times to meet test Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with collaboration across internal and outsourced manufacturing sites in Taiwan, China, and Korea. The position reports to Test Operations under the Operations Engineering Department (OED).

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Test Operations liaison to Renesas Product Groups and cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Quality, Packaging, Foundry, and PMO, spanning locations such as the US, Japan, India, Malaysia, and China throughout all lifecycle stages.
• Manage daily test operations activities with internal factories and outsourced test manufacturing partners to guarantee customer order fulfillment involving lot tracking, test program releases, hardware troubleshooting and repairs, equipment uptime, tester utilization and OEE monitoring, as well as continuous process enhancements.
• Coordinate the transfer of Probe and Final Test processes from New Product Introduction to high volume manufacturing stages.
• Lead new test capacity expansions involving testers, handlers, and hardware to satisfy production demands.
• Deploy new tester, handler technology, and test solutions developed by test development teams to manufacturing sites.
• Implement industry best practices within test manufacturing environments.
• Drive initiatives aimed at improving gross margins through optimization of OEE, yield, and retesting efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computing, or related engineering field is mandatory.
• Preferably over 5 years of experience in high-volume semiconductor test manufacturing, particularly in Probe, WLCSP, and Final Test operations.
• Experience with major Automated Test Equipment (ATE) platforms such as Teradyne UltraFLEX/Flex and Advantest 93k.
• Good understanding of test processes, equipment operations, and production planning.
• Strong problem-solving skills including expertise with 8D, Why-Why analysis, and addressing process and manufacturing challenges.
• Sound knowledge of analog, digital, and power product test methodologies, failure analysis, and reliability testing.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with all organizational levels.
• Robust project management capabilities.
• Applicants must be Singaporean citizens or permanent residents.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Familiarity with OSAT Test Operations management.
• Expertise in WLCSP probing test hardware, test probers, and map merging.
• Proficiency with statistical data analysis tools such as JMP and Spotfire.
