Role Overview
The Staff Product Designer role is critical for guiding and shaping the development of Airwallex’s products. Closely collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will uphold brand consistency and contribute significantly to product architecture, participating in transformative and high-impact projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, Strategists, and Writers to clarify problems and objectives, design user flows, develop prototypes, and launch innovative products and services.
- Serve as an informal creative lead, guiding skilled designers, product managers, and engineers through projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with leadership across core and extended teams, demonstrating excellent communication and executive stakeholder management.
- Apply deep knowledge of research methodologies along with understanding technical, business, and user-related opportunities and constraints.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess over 8 years of product design experience with mastery in UX, visual design, and interaction design skills.
- Proven capability to define design direction and processes and to lead others effectively through these.
- Ability to inspiringly motivate small to medium teams in product transformation initiatives.
- Experience navigating ambiguous situations, setting visionary strategies, and steering global product designs.
- Systematic thinker with expertise beyond digital interfaces, including offline experience design.
- Skillful at simplifying complex information, tools, and services to enhance user comprehension.
- Exceptional storytelling, presentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Experience either taking projects from concept to launch (0 to 1) or significantly redesigning major product elements or service designs.
