Job Overview

This role is for a Consultant Staff Physician specialized in Primary Care who will apply advanced medical expertise in diagnosing, preventing, and managing illnesses within the medical subspecialty of Primary Care at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. The physician will provide direct patient care, potentially refer patients to appropriate healthcare professionals within the team, and contribute to clinical excellence through evidence-based practices and research.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver medical care and monitor patients within the Primary Care specialty.
• Prescribe medications, therapies, and specialized interventions to treat or prevent diseases and injuries.
• Interpret and analyze patient records, diagnostic reports, and lab results to form accurate diagnoses.
• Engage with patients to obtain comprehensive medical histories and explain procedures, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
• Conduct medical procedures and surgeries when appropriate to treat patient conditions.
• Document findings and treatment notes meticulously to maintain accurate medical records and facilitate referrals.
• Coordinate with other medical and non-medical staff members to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Adhere strictly to ethical guidelines and regulatory standards in medical practice.
• Participate in administrative duties including committee involvement, task forces, and initiatives aimed at improving clinical performance.
• Comply with clinical privileges and institutional policies governing the medical staff.
• Provide culturally sensitive care to a diverse patient population.

Qualifications and Experience

• Medical degree (MD, MBBS, MBChB, or DO) from an accredited institution, with specialty certification from recognized bodies such as the American Board of Medical Specialties or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
• Possess Tier 1 specialty qualifications (e.g., American Board, UK CCT) and hold a valid license or registration to practice in the country of origin or last employment.
• Maintain certification requirements as applicable.
• For physicians from Tier 1 countries: minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
• For physicians from Tier 2 countries: minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience.
• Proven leadership capabilities managing healthcare teams effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with patients and colleagues.
• Proficiency in English is mandatory; fluency in Arabic is advantageous.
