Role Summary

As an early and senior member of this team, the Staff Full Stack Engineer acts like a founding engineer with broad influence over technical direction, mentoring senior engineering staff, and fostering a culture of engineering excellence. The role demands maintaining rapid product development while ensuring highly reliable systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain production software emphasizing extensibility, dependability, and user-friendliness.
• Regularly author and review code to maintain high-quality standards and lead team performance.
• Develop complete product experiences with strong user focus and commitment to excellent usability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders and navigate organizational complexities with support from leadership.
• Partner with engineering managers, product managers, and company leaders to define and drive long-term technical vision.
• Remove obstacles for the team to meet short-term goals and long-term roadmaps, balancing business needs, user satisfaction, and sustainable engineering practices.
• Enhance engineering standards, tooling, and workflows continuously.
• Coach and mentor engineers, cultivating future technical leaders at Stripe.

Candidate Profile - Minimum Requirements

• Over 10 years of professional experience in backend or full-stack development, including active coding and code review involvement.
• Demonstrated success in establishing and implementing long-term technical strategies for large-scale products.
• Strong ability to manage competing priorities and stakeholders to iteratively release new features.
• Proven technical leadership experience, including contributing significantly to the development of fellow engineers.
• Excellent communication skills, able to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A customer-centric mindset with empathy towards users to guide problem solving and product design.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with full-stack development frameworks, especially React and Ruby.
• A strong desire for continuous learning and impactful engineering contributions.

Work Location Expectations

Employees in this role based in Dublin are expected to work fully onsite to foster close collaboration and optimize user support and workflows.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary range for the position in Dublin is €132,000 to €198,000, subject to variation based on location and other factors such as experience and qualifications. The compensation package may include equity, bonuses, retirement plans, health insurance, and wellness stipends. Specific benefits details will be discussed during the interview process.
