Key Responsibilities

• Define and guide the technical vision for the frontend architecture within the Photo group and related teams.
• Lead and coordinate complex, cross-team frontend projects, ensuring a balance between technical quality and product goals.
• Enhance engineering practices by improving architecture, boosting performance, mentoring staff, and setting technical standards.
• Spot and assess strategic technological opportunities and risks shaping the company’s long-term development.
• Work closely with senior engineers, product managers, machine learning specialists, and designers to create ambitious and sophisticated user experiences.
• Serve as the representative for the Photo group in cross-group architectural discussions influencing frontend platform progress.
• Engage hands-on with pivotal technical projects while empowering engineers to perform at their best.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive experience designing and scaling complex frontend applications using modern JavaScript or TypeScript with React.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing multi-team technical initiatives from uncertain concepts to successful execution.
• Expertise in render performance, large-scale frontend architecture, advanced state management, or platform engineering domains.
• Strong technical decision-making abilities and effective communication of complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven mentorship capabilities for senior engineers and driving elevated engineering standards across teams.
• Comfortable working within ambiguity, translating strategic objectives into implementable technical plans.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with graphics-focused technologies such as WebGL, WebGPU, WebAssembly, or Canvas rendering.
• Background in developing image editing tools, creative software, or media platforms.
• Exposure to integrating artificial intelligence or machine learning in product features.
• Contributions to frontend platforms, design systems, or commonly used engineering infrastructure.
