Role Overview

This role centers on leading technical direction and architecture for Fin's web platform, including its marketing and growth websites like fin.ai. As Staff Engineer, you'll collaborate across teams including marketing, analytics, design, data science, and engineering to develop a modern and high-performing web stack that enhances brand, experimentation, and product discovery.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the evolution of Fin's web platform architecture.
• Define and execute long-term technical strategies focusing on scalability, developer productivity, system observability, performance, and reliability.
• Work closely with stakeholders in marketing, design, analytics, and data science to align platform capabilities with business objectives.
• Oversee the design and implementation of MarTech systems like event tracking, attribution, funnel analysis, and A/B testing frameworks.
• Collaborate with web, infrastructure, and data engineering to ensure cohesive technology ecosystems.
• Mentor engineering teams, enhancing skills in architecture, data modeling, system design, and best practices.
• Set standards for code quality, maintainability, reliability, and operational readiness.
• Provide clear communication of technical risks, trade-offs, and opportunities to leadership and product managers.
• Contribute hands-on to coding efforts to lead by example and expedite critical projects.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 8 years in software engineering roles.
• Proven experience within high-scale, growth-oriented web environments.
• Strong background in technical leadership influencing multiple teams or departments.
• Advanced knowledge and extensive experience with Next.js and React ecosystems.
• Hands-on expertise with headless CMS solutions such as Contentful or Sanity, including content modeling, migrations, and managing multi-site architectures.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform), AWS cloud services, and deployment platforms like Vercel.
• Experience setting up or managing experimentation systems including A/B testing frameworks and tools like Eppo.
• Deep understanding of web analytics, event instrumentation, and tools such as Google Tag Manager.
• Comfortable engaging with full-stack codebases, with strong knowledge of frontend architecture.
• Track record working within continuous delivery environments emphasizing incremental, reliable releases.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach across diverse teams.
• A demonstrated capacity for mentorship and raising engineering standards organizationally.

Work Environment and Culture
