About Qualcomm Hexagon NPU Team
Join Qualcomm Canada ULC in Markham, Ontario to contribute to the design and development of IP blocks powering Snapdragon processors and AI inference engines. Our Hexagon NPU, a proprietary AI processor, plays a central role in Qualcomm's hybrid AI computing capabilities across diverse AI applications.
Role Summary
We are in search of dedicated engineers with a passion for developing high-performance, energy-efficient CPU and AI processors through micro-architecture design and RTL implementation.
Key Responsibilities and Expertise
- Design and code RTL for sophisticated CPU and AI processors
- Engage in CPU/AI processor micro-architecture and architecture design
- Debug architectural designs and power management circuits
- Contribute to various advanced architecture aspects including instruction fetch, scheduling, register renaming
- Implement fixed-point and floating-point designs
- Work on matrix multiplication engines and vector extensions
- Design memory subsystems addressing load/store, caches, coherency, consistency, and atomics
- Develop branch prediction, out-of-order execution, dispatch, and scheduling mechanisms
- Participate in multi-processor and multi-threaded system design
- Work with RISC-V architecture and optimize for power, performance, and area (PPA)
- Design CPU subsystem logic
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field plus 4+ years of ASIC design, verification, validation, integration, or a related discipline
- OR Master's degree with minimum 3+ years of relevant ASIC design and validation experience
- OR PhD with at least 2+ years experience in ASIC-related design and integration

Compensation and Benefits
The base salary range for this role is $129600 to $179600 annually, supplemented by a competitive discretionary bonus structure and annual RSU grants (with exceptions for sales-incentive plans). Employees also enjoy an attractive benefits package focused on holistic support.
