Speech Pathologist

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and diagnoses of communication disorders.
• Perform functional communication evaluations.
• Deliver interventions targeting speech, language, and social communication.
• Assess and manage swallowing difficulties (dysphagia).
• Design, trial, and implement both low-tech and high-tech AAC devices.
• Create, implement, and review evidence-based therapy plans.
• Provide education to parents, caregivers, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with allied health professionals, educators, and medical practitioners to plan care.
• Offer services in community, clinic, and school environments.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Degree in Speech Pathology or currently enrolled in final-year studies.
• Eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) certification or Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver's license with access to a vehicle.
• Working With Children Check and National Police Check.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency status.
