Key Duties

• Conduct assessments tailored to each client’s needs and manage a specialized caseload including complex cases through a case management approach.
• Maintain and select assessment and therapy resources.
• Create, execute, and update individualized therapy programs aligned with client goals.
• Deliver therapy across various environments including clinic, home, school, and community settings.
• Collaborate with allied health professionals to optimize client outcomes.
• Develop group therapy sessions and parent workshops.
• Adhere strictly to privacy and confidentiality regulations.
• Stay current with best practices and actively contribute to service enhancement.

Therapy Program Development

• Manage initial client appointments and develop goal plans addressing specific support needs.
• Devise measurable and targeted intervention strategies.
• Coordinate with health professionals such as Speech and Psychology specialists.
• Prepare session and home-based materials and plans.
• Conduct visits to schools and homes as necessary.
• Monitor client progress, revise goals and programs accordingly.
• Complete reports and reviews, and identify opportunities for group program inclusion.

Documentation and Reporting

• Record treatment notes promptly, within 24 hours using the Practice Management System.
• Provide timely, comprehensive reports to clients, families, health professionals, and funding bodies such as NDIA.
• Ensure documentation meets organisational standards and report any client incidents appropriately.

Funding and Financial Management

• Align therapy services with available funding frameworks, including reviewing NDIS plans.
• Provide accurate information to support correct invoicing of services.

Professional Growth and Organisational Compliance

• Engage in team meetings, peer reviews, and case discussions regularly.
• Maintain accurate records as per organisational protocols.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance role-specific skills.
• Comply with workplace health and safety, emergency procedures, child safety, and cultural competence policies.
• Perform risk assessments and promote preventative measures.
• Maintain and nurture professional networks and interdisciplinary relationships.
• Hold valid discipline-specific registration or memberships and comply with ethical codes.
• Uphold privacy and confidentiality in accordance with policy and legislation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience in solution-focused therapy and early intervention.
• Strong aptitude for tailoring services to individual client needs.
• Effective engagement with children, families, and external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, organizational, observational, and report writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Relevant Speech Pathology qualification.
• Registration with AHPRA and Speech Pathology Australia.
• Current NDIS Workers Screening Check, Drivers’ Licence with vehicle access, Working with Children or Vulnerable People Check, National Police Check, and accredited First Aid Certification.
