Key Responsibilities
- Conduct appropriate assessments for each client and manage a specialised caseload including complex cases with a case management approach.
- Contribute to selecting and maintaining assessment and therapeutic resources.
- Create, implement, review, and amend customized therapy programs aligned with client objectives.
- Provide therapy services across clinical settings, homes, schools, and the community as required.
- Work collaboratively with allied health professionals to enhance client results.
- Develop and facilitate specialised sessions such as group therapy and parent workshops.
- Strictly maintain privacy and confidentiality in all professional activities.
- Ensure clinical practices align with current best practices and engage in continuous service improvement.
- Record all session notes and documentation within 24 hours using the practice management system.
- Produce timely, high-quality reports for all stakeholders, including families, clients, health professionals, and NDIS representatives, complying with organisational standards.
- Manage funding alignment within therapy plans, review NDIS plans where applicable to guide therapy approaches, and support accurate invoicing processes.
- Participate actively in team meetings, case discussions, and professional development initiatives to enhance skills.
- Adhere to organisational policies including workplace health & safety, emergency procedures, child safety, and cultural competence.
- Maintain current registration and memberships relevant to occupational therapy and uphold professional codes of conduct.
- Engage in risk management, networking, and collaboration with other professionals and agencies.
Experience and Skills Required
- Proven experience in solution-focused therapy and early intervention strategies.
- Competence in tailoring individualised services to meet unique client needs.
- Proficiency in engaging effectively with children, families, and external collaborators.
- Excellent communication, organisational abilities, and report-writing skills.
- Aptitude for autonomous work as well as team collaboration in multidisciplinary environments.
Qualifications and Compliance
- Occupational Therapy qualification relevant to practice.
- Active registration with AHPRA and compliance with professional standards.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check clearance.
- Valid driver's license and vehicle access.
- Current Working with Children Check or equivalent state-specific verification.
- Clear National Police Check.
- Accredited First Aid Certification.
