Job description

Overview

The Specialist, Privatization will spearhead and manage efforts aimed at privatizing environmental initiatives and attracting investments. This involves fostering partnerships, empowering environmental centers, designing privatization initiatives, and ensuring project readiness and successful execution to boost private sector involvement and optimize both environmental and economic outcomes for the Fund.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning environmental privatization projects by contributing to the creation of privatization strategies, setting priorities, scheduling activities, and defining performance metrics.
  • Support preparation and completion of detailed studies and documentation throughout all phases of privatization projects—ranging from needs assessment to tendering and project closure.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation and securely archive all records related to privatization activities.
  • Help develop and organize training sessions and workshops for environmental centers focused on managing privatization projects effectively.
  • Coordinate communication and complete necessary email procedures related to environmental privatization projects with the General Department of Economic Affairs.
  • Generate monthly and quarterly reports on environmental privatization projects aligned with templates provided by the General Department of Economic Affairs.
  • Contribute to investment opportunity planning by assisting in the design and implementation of rollout plans, prioritizing initiatives, scheduling actions, and defining related indicators.
  • Support the creation of business models and terms-of-reference documentation for investment opportunities within environmental assets.
  • Collaborate with governmental agencies and external stakeholders to collect data and information necessary for decision-making.
  • Assist in preparing analytical materials and coordinating meetings related to investment attraction and privatization.
  • Monitor and communicate updates on national legislation and regulatory requirements relevant to environmental privatization.
  • Facilitate coordination between the Fund, environmental centers, committees, and working groups through data collection and tracking project progress.
  • Help align various initiatives ensuring clarity and consistency in objectives and requirements.
  • Track implementation activities to guarantee harmonized efforts among different environmental centers.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Public Administration, or a closely related discipline is required; a Master’s degree is advantageous.
  • Open to recent graduates with minimal prior work experience.
  • Expertise in reviewing and applying privatization strategies.
  • Capabilities in monitoring privatized asset performance and assessing impact.
  • Strong skills in data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and develop relevant projects.
  • Knowledge in conducting economic and financial feasibility assessments of projects.
