Job Overview

The Specialist Physician in Radiology is responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-driven, patient-focused medical care. This role exemplifies clinical excellence within the department and contributes significantly to training and supervising junior doctors.

Responsibilities

• Support and comply with all hospital and divisional policies, initiatives, and performance management processes including peer and productivity reviews.
• Assist Consultant staff to ensure continuous medical coverage within the division.
• Participate in divisional meetings when invited and contribute to incident reporting and investigation.
• Perform clinical and administrative duties as directed by Consultant staff.
• Under supervision, diagnose and manage patients according to best practice standards relevant to radiology.
• Assist Consultants in supervising junior medical staff and share responsibility for patient care.
• Adhere to hospital policies on patient admissions, consultations, care, procedures, discharges, and follow-ups.
• Utilize hospital resources responsibly and lead ward rounds, regularly reassessing patients.
• Document clinical information clearly and timely, review investigation results regularly, and adapt treatments when necessary.
• Coordinate with other medical specialties and multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Ensure patients are appropriately prepared for procedures and obtain informed consent.
• Accept referrals from emergency, primary care, specialty clinics, and other hospitals as appropriate.
• Participate in on-call rotations including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Communicate clinical information effectively to patients and their families with consent.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with staff, fostering teamwork in patient care.
• Contribute to quality improvement by supporting audits and patient safety initiatives.
• Engage in clinical research and stay updated with latest industry literature and trends.
• Supervise and provide guidance to junior medical staff actively.

Qualifications

• Board certification in radiology is essential.
• Tier 1: No additional clinical experience required after board certification.
• Tier 2: Minimum of 2 years clinical experience after qualification at internationally accredited institutions.
• Tier 3: Minimum of 3 years clinical experience as a Specialist post-qualification at internationally accredited institutions.
• For UAE Nationals and non-nationals enrolled in HAAD-accredited residency programs: no additional experience required beyond board certification.
