Role Overview
We are seeking a Data Security Specialist Account Executive to join our sales team in a hybrid role based primarily in Mumbai, with reporting to the Regional Sales Director of Data Protection Sales. This position will drive the development and expansion of our Data Protection business across India. The specialist will collaborate with Account Executives, Sales Engineers, and channel partners to identify and close opportunities related to Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and other data security products within enterprise and strategic accounts. This role serves as the regional expert on data protection technologies including inline and endpoint DLP, CASB, SaaS security posture, email DLP, GenAI security, and data security posture management (DSPM), leading pipeline building, opportunity qualification, and competitive displacement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Leverage over 8 years of experience in enterprise software sales, with at least 3 years focused on selling data security technologies such as DLP, CASB, DSPM, data classification, or insider risk solutions.
- Develop and execute a territory growth plan to achieve Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and broader data protection sales targets across India in partnership with core sales teams.
- Act as a trusted advisor to Chief Information Security Officers, Chief Information Officers, and data protection executives on strategy, program maturity, and relevant regional regulations like the DPDP Act and RBI guidelines.
- Lead discovery sessions, perform business value assessments, and deliver executive presentations to advance data protection opportunities, including facilitating proof-of-value projects in collaboration with Sales Engineering.
- Conduct training and enablement sessions for core Account Executives and channel partners and represent the data security portfolio at conferences, workshops, and industry forums.
Candidate Profile
- Self-motivated and driven by passion for the mission, exhibiting integrity and adaptability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
- Thrives on challenges and problem-solving to achieve impactful outcomes.
- Team-oriented, embracing continuous feedback and fostering trust through open communication.
- Detail-focused, enjoys creating and iterating solutions while swiftly delivering value to end-users.
- Data and analytics-driven decision-maker who prioritizes evidence over assumptions to optimize results.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated eagerness and experience integrating AI tools into daily workflows to improve efficiency and problem-solving.
- Proven record of exceeding sales quotas in enterprise markets, particularly in overlay, specialist, or new-business acquisition roles.
- Strong domain expertise to discuss data protection architectures, data flows, classification methods, and compliance with both technical and executive stakeholders.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders across industries like BFSI, IT/ITES, pharmaceuticals, or manufacturing, alongside engagement with GSI and channel partners.
- Knowledge of Indian regulatory frameworks influencing data protection investments, such as the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act.
- Self-starter capable of working effectively within matrixed organizations, influencing without direct authority, and coordinating virtual teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with data security vendors or SASE/SSE providers or experience competing against legacy DLP providers.
- Established relationships with data protection and security executives within enterprise accounts.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP or CIPP or significant expertise in privacy and compliance frameworks.
