Job description
Position Overview
The Spa Therapist will provide an array of massage and body treatment services to guests, including the use of various props and spa products such as body scrubs, wraps, and hydrotherapy methods. They will assess guests’ health conditions prior to treatment to identify contraindications like allergies, high blood pressure, and pregnancy, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver massages and body treatments tailored to guest needs using current techniques and modalities.
- Guide guests to and from treatment rooms while preparing treatment areas, including arranging workstations and drapes to create a relaxing environment.
- Maintain communication with guests during service to ensure maximum comfort, safety, and security.
- Promote and upsell spa services and retail products effectively.
- Keep tools sterilized and workspaces clean, secure supplies, and dispose of linens and waste properly after each shift.
- Adhere to time schedules diligently, ensuring services start and end punctually.
- Manage difficult or inappropriate guest conduct according to established protocols, including halting services when necessary and escalating to supervisors.
- Comply with all safety regulations by reporting accidents, injuries, and hazards promptly and completing required safety training and certifications.
- Follow company policies including maintaining a professional appearance, confidentiality, and protecting company assets.
- Welcome every guest warmly, anticipate their needs, and communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and customers alike.
- Maintain positive work relationships within the team.
- Physically capable of standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, and handling objects up to 10 pounds without assistance.
- Perform additional reasonable duties as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Possess a State or Regional Massage License as required by local regulations.
- Completed education from a technical, trade, or vocational school.
- At least one year of relevant experience in spa therapy.
- No supervisory experience required.
