About the Role
We are currently looking for a skilled and commercially minded Sourcing Specialist to handle sourcing operations, foster supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and drive cost optimization efforts. This full-time role requires close collaboration with departments such as Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations to pinpoint dependable suppliers while balancing cost, quality, service, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business goals and procurement targets.
- Identify, assess, and qualify suppliers considering cost-effectiveness, quality, reliability, capacity, and service standards.
- Manage sourcing processes including RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, e-sourcing sessions, quotation assessments, and supplier comparisons.
- Drive negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, advantageous terms, enhanced service levels, and sustained value.
- Draft, negotiate, and oversee supplier contracts and commercial arrangements.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key suppliers and internal business partners.
- Track supplier performance metrics concerning cost, quality, delivery, service, and compliance.
- Initiate corrective measures and improvement plans for suppliers not meeting performance standards.
- Lead initiatives aimed at cost reduction, savings, and value enhancement.
- Analyze spending categories, market pricing, supplier bids, and procurement trends.
- Explore and source new products, suppliers, and methodologies while identifying emerging market opportunities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to align sourcing activities with purchasing needs and business priorities.
- Monitor purchase orders, supplier obligations, delivery timelines, and contractual commitments.
- Support supplier onboarding, qualification, evaluation, and performance reviews.
- Utilize ERP, e-procurement, and e-sourcing platforms to boost sourcing efficiency and transparency.
- Prepare detailed reports including sourcing analyses, spend reviews, savings documentation, supplier evaluations, and presentations for management.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, contract conditions, and applicable quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Identify risks in the supply chain and devise alternative sourcing strategies to maintain operations continuity.
- Continuously enhance sourcing practices, supplier networks, and procurement performance.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven background in sourcing, procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or category management roles.
- In-depth knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier management, procurement protocols, and contract negotiation.
- Experience conducting RFQs, RFPs, supplier evaluations, and commercial negotiations with cost analysis.
- Strong analytical and financial capabilities for evaluating spend, pricing, savings, and supplier outcomes.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in managing both direct and indirect procurement categories is a plus.
- Familiarity with contractual terms, commercial agreements, supplier contracts, and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with ERP and procurement systems such as SAP, Oracle, Ariba, or equivalents.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and achieve measurable commercial benefits.
- Strong problem-solving aptitude with capability to handle multiple sourcing projects concurrently.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Business units.
- A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Finance, Engineering or relevant fields is preferred.
- Professional credentials like CIPS/MCIPS or similar qualifications are advantageous.
