Role Overview

The Solutions Engineer will act as a strategic technical advisor to customers and prospects, ensuring that solutions meet their operational and business needs comprehensively. This role works closely with Sales, particularly Account Executives, to validate technical feasibility, align solutions with customer goals, and secure successful deals. It is ideal for GRC professionals, auditors, and compliance specialists seeking a dynamic, client-facing position within a SaaS environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner strategically with sales teams to manage the technical engagement throughout the sales cycle.
• Identify and validate technical and business challenges and define measurable success criteria with customers.
• Deliver customized, narrative-driven product demonstrations tailored to client-specific requirements and compliance frameworks.
• Evaluate the feasibility of integrations and compatibility with client environments, workflows, and architectures.
• Collaborate on deal shaping by aligning customer goals with Vanta's capabilities and addressing technical risks proactively.
• Ensure smooth transition to post-sales teams by documenting solution designs, expectations, and known limitations.
• Provide structured customer feedback to the Product team to influence feature prioritization and improvement.
• Support customers throughout evaluation and trial phases of Vanta's platform.
• Promote a culture of teamwork, openness, and continuous improvement within the company.

Qualifications and Skills

• Ability and willingness to work on-site in Dublin office three days a week (Tuesday to Thursday).
• At least five years of experience in customer-facing roles such as Solutions Engineer, Sales Engineer, or GRC Consultant within B2B SaaS environments.
• Proven strategic problem-solving ability with deep technical skills to identify and clarify customer pain points.
• Excellent communication, storytelling, and active listening skills enabling effective, high-impact product demonstrations.
• Strong customer empathy focused on uncovering the urgency and rationale behind business needs.
• Collaborative approach to deal strategy, working closely with sales teams to guide stakeholders toward agreed objectives.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and familiarity with major operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
• Detail-oriented with robust organizational and project management skills.
• Basic knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, Bash, or JavaScript, with enthusiasm to expand these skills.
• Familiarity with REST API development and service integrations is advantageous.
• Experience in cybersecurity, GRC, or audit domains is preferred.
• Openness to leveraging AI tools responsibly to enhance productivity and output quality.
