Role Overview

The Solutions Engineer acts as the pivotal technical resource for the sales team, especially collaborating with Account Executives to provide a smooth onboarding and evaluation journey for prospective clients. Responsibilities range from addressing setup and authentication challenges, clarifying security and privacy concerns, configuring integrations for mid-market and enterprise customers, to supporting data migrations and technical demonstrations. This fully remote role is open to candidates residing in Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with sales Account Executives to guide prospects technically throughout their evaluation phase, serving as their trusted advisor.
  • Diagnose and resolve onboarding issues like application setup, downloads, and authentication to ensure smooth trial initiations.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding security standards and data privacy, confidently discussing certifications such as SOC 2 and HIPAA with legal and IT stakeholders.
  • Implement and adjust software integrations tailored to mid-sized and enterprise user environments.
  • Facilitate large-scale document and data migrations for customers and prospects.
  • Provide immediate troubleshooting and bug fixes during trial periods, coordinating with Engineering teams when necessary to guarantee resolution.
  • Lead technical demos and proofs of concept that align with the distinct requirements of prospective clients.
  • Work closely with IT departments to complete RFPs and security questionnaires integral to the sales process.
  • Generate and update comprehensive technical content and user documentation to enhance customer success.
  • Become an expert on the Spellbook platform and maintain awareness of competitor solutions.
  • Participate in various initiatives supporting sales growth, including event attendance and internal training sessions, as directed by management.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years in solution engineering, sales engineering, technical support, or related customer-facing technical roles, preferably within SaaS or B2B sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of security and data privacy frameworks (including SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, PIPEDA) and capability to communicate their advantages confidently.
  • Experience troubleshooting authentication protocols such as SSO and SAML, along with deployment and user setup issues.
  • Hands-on experience integrating and configuring software for mid-market and enterprise clients.
  • Background in managing large-scale document and data migration projects.
  • Strong communication skills, able to explain technical details and business value clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including lawyers and IT professionals.
  • Ability to assess customer challenges and propose effective technical solutions.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of thriving in fast-moving and flexible environments.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills within a distributed team structure.
  • Proficient using CRM and customer interaction tools like HubSpot or equivalents.
  • Legal authorization to work within Canada.

  • Experience adapting and succeeding in startup companies.
  • Familiarity with the legal technology sector and its unique dynamics.
  • Background in scaling fast-growing technology firms and navigating rapid industry changes.
  • Skilled in delivering technical presentations and product demonstrations to diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of deploying or managing Microsoft 365 and Word add-in environments.
  • Comfortable responsibly leveraging AI tools for tasks such as research, drafting, or data analysis.

Compensation Information

The total compensation for this role ranges between 148,000 and 185,000 Canadian dollars annually, encompassing base salary plus potential commissions and equity.
