Role Overview

SailPoint is looking for a Solution Engineering Manager based in Germany (remote option available) to lead and expand the solution engineering team. This position involves hiring, coaching, and managing a high-performing group of Solution Engineers who demonstrate and communicate the value of SailPoint's products in the Identity Governance market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, mentor, and motivate the solution engineering team to meet set targets.
  • Oversee individual and team performance, taking action to maintain high standards.
  • Apply analytical and problem-solving skills alongside management consulting to influence multiple customer stakeholders.
  • Enhance sales methodologies and processes, including developing tailored product presentations and demos suited to audience needs.
  • Identify training gaps and implement programs to boost sales, product, and technical knowledge within the sales engineering team.
  • Collaborate with Regional Sales directors on account planning, strategy, and sales activities.
  • Provide timely, insightful feedback to corporate functions such as sales, product management, and marketing.
  • Manage relationships with internal product teams and external decision-makers.

Requirements

  • Strong grasp of SaaS solutions and their operations.
  • Good knowledge or experience in identity management and core identity principles.
  • Experience or understanding of AI-driven solutions.
  • Exceptional communication skills tailored to technical and business audiences.
  • At least 5 years as a sales engineering manager plus 5 years as a sales engineer.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Preferred qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent global experience.

Path to Success

  • Within 30 days: Completion of onboarding and introductions to team members and sales leaders.
  • Within 60 days: Familiarity with business priorities, key opportunities, and established communication rhythms with peers.
  • Within 90 days: Completion of product training and alignment with team and leadership.
  • Within 12 months: Successful partnership with sales leaders, trust-building with the team, and achievement of sales budget goals.

Additional Information

  • This is a remote position located in Germany with domestic and international travel as needed.
  • Compensation will be determined based on experience.
  • Employment offers are contingent on background checks and references.
  • The salary range for this role in local currency is €78,470 to €132,242.60, plus benefits such as health care, retirement plans, employee assistance programs, paid leave, and holidays, which may vary depending on location and hire date.
