Role Overview

We are inviting applications for a Senior Manager role as a Snowflake Solution Architect. This position sits at the cutting edge of data engineering and integration with a focus on crafting cloud-based data and AI platforms using Snowflake and supporting technologies. You will design robust data ingestion and transformation pipelines, develop data architectures and products, and build interfaces that allow users to engage effectively with complex datasets via visualization tools and natural language processing interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing solution architectures for Snowflake-based data platforms.
• Developing data models and constructing scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines.
• Integrating Snowflake with other related ecosystem tools to enable seamless data workflows.
• Collaborating closely with cross-disciplinary teams to understand and deliver on data needs through technical solutions.
• Leading and mentoring junior team members to advance their technical skills and promote a learning culture.
• Keeping abreast of the latest trends and technologies to maintain a leading edge in data engineering practices.

Key Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated experience in successfully implementing Snowflake platforms.
• Expertise in data platform architecture design and implementation.
• Proficiency in data modeling across various methodologies.
• Strong skills in designing and building robust, scalable data pipelines.
• Experience writing high-performance SQL queries.
• Ability to integrate Snowflake with diverse data processing frameworks.
• Preferred skills include familiarity with Snowflake Horizon Catalog, and programming languages such as Python, Java, and Scala.
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities related to data challenges.
• Effective communication skills to explain complex technical issues to non-technical audiences.
• A collaborative and proactive approach with a passion for utilizing data to influence business outcomes.
• Previous technical leadership or mentorship experience.

Work Location and Flexibility

While the preferred workplace is EY's office in Wellington, consideration may be given to candidates based in Auckland or Christchurch. Flexible work schedules, including reduced hours, can be discussed.
