Software Integration Engineer

Overview

We seek a Software Integration Engineer with between five and eight years of experience in software development to enhance our team. This role involves problem solving, creating efficient automation solutions with thorough documentation, and exploring innovative methods including low-code platforms and AI applications to address business demands.

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance integrations and automations using the Workato platform.
• Create comprehensive recipes, connectors, and process workflows across various systems including SaaS applications, internal tools, and databases, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
• Improve existing automations for optimal performance, scalability, and stability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot workflows proactively to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy monitoring and alerting solutions to reduce disruptions and support swift incident management.
• Partner with stakeholders to convert business needs into technical workflows and integration solutions.
• Evaluate processes to identify automation opportunities, simplifications, or enhancements powered by AI.
• Design solutions with best practices addressing error management, security, and maintainability.
• Support knowledge sharing and mentor colleagues in integration and automation techniques.
• Continue upskilling by staying informed about emerging best practices, technologies, AI tools, and low-code platforms.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Five to eight years' experience in software development, automation engineering, or integration development.
• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, systems engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proficient in at least one programming or scripting language such as Ruby, Python, or JavaScript.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a calm, meticulous approach to troubleshooting.
• Effective communication abilities to convey technical information clearly and liaise well with diverse teams.
• Solid understanding of APIs, JSON, and standard integration patterns.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with integration platforms or iPaaS solutions like Workato, Zapier, Boomi, MuleSoft, or Make.
• SQL and database management experience.
• Practical knowledge in developing Workato custom connectors.
• Workato certification is advantageous.
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture concepts.
• Experience integrating CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or DevOps workflows.
• Background in data mapping methodologies.
