Our enterprise-grade knowledge graphs facilitate accurate, transparent, and well-governed AI solutions. Trusted by 84 of the Fortune 100 companies and supported by a vast global graph community, Neo4j delivers rapid, contextual insights across any environment and data source.
Our technology is designed for flexibility, integrating seamlessly across clouds to enable dynamic, personalized, and autonomous AI systems that impact businesses at all levels.
Our Vision
We strive to make data understandable and useful. As connections between businesses, society, and knowledge deepen, our technology fosters innovation by uncovering meaningful data relationships. As pioneers and leaders in the graph database domain, we are transforming how organizations leverage data to maintain a competitive edge.
The Team
The Software Delivery team supports Neo4j’s managed cloud service, Aura, which brings graph database capabilities to the cloud. Our team blends software development and platform engineering skills, ensuring efficient platform solutions that empower internal teams.
The Role
This role aims to enhance engineering productivity by creating robust internal developer platforms. The Software Delivery team focuses on refining the Developer Experience within Aura to enable other engineering groups to work more effectively. By crafting user-friendly, self-service tools that remove bottlenecks, we allow engineers to concentrate on delivering high-impact solutions, accelerating deployment timelines, and boosting business outcomes. This approach is often referred to as building the "golden path" or "paved road."
Primary Responsibilities
- Boost the speed and quality of build processes by advancing CI runners and build infrastructure.
- Collaborate with ArgoCD to innovate software delivery mechanisms to production.
- Enhance Kubernetes as a control plane to provide engineers direct lifecycle management over their resources.
- Develop and refine enabling tools for engineers, such as scaffolding for component creation, testing frameworks, and continuous delivery platforms using Argo Rollouts to facilitate testing within production.
- Promote contemporary software development practices, including continuous delivery, feature-flag releases, and production testing.
Required Qualifications
- Proficient Kubernetes experience, including familiarity with core resources like Pods, Deployments, and StatefulSets.
- Understanding of Kubernetes operator patterns and extending Kubernetes APIs via Custom Resources.
- Strong skills in Go (Golang), demonstrated through multiple projects covering scripting and complex microservices.
- Knowledge of Golang build and packaging systems.
- Solid grasp of modern CI practices and experience constructing CI/CD pipelines transitioning merged PRs to production, often within Kubernetes clusters.
- Experience creating and managing Docker images.
- A passion for identifying developer challenges and devising effective solutions.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience treating an internal developer platform as a product, focusing on user experience, collaboration with internal teams, and observability to measure platform performance and usage.
- Fluency in simplifying local development workflows using tools like Make, and familiarity with Kubernetes-related build tools such as kustomize or helm.
- Exposure to cloud platforms including Google Cloud Platform, AWS, and Azure.
- Knowledge of software observability techniques, including tracing, logging, and metrics collection.
