Software Engineer - Search Platform Experience

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accessible, high-caliber search features primarily using React, TypeScript, and contemporary web technologies.
• Manage the full lifecycle of feature development — from design through to deployment, monitoring, and refinement.
• Contribute to backend services and effectively integrate APIs connecting search features with AI and data platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, data science, and machine learning to craft customer-focused solutions.
• Enhance performance, reliability, accessibility, and sustainability of built experiences.
• Leverage user feedback, analytics, and testing to boost search usability and user engagement.
• Engage in technical discussions, code reviews, and operational incident support.
• Advance team efficiency with improved tools, documentation, reusable components, and sound engineering practices.
• Provide knowledge sharing and constructive feedback to uplift team capabilities and work quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in software engineering, with experience creating and launching production-quality software.
• Proficient in modern frontend technologies including React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Skilled in designing reusable components and building interfaces that are responsive and accessible.
• Experience integrating frontend software with RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Strong foundation in software architecture, data structures, testing methodologies, and debugging.
• Accountable for features from conception through to deployment and production maintenance.
• Commitment to producing clean, test-driven, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work seamlessly with various teams.
• Capability to handle ambiguity, make informed technical decisions, and proactively address risks or obstacles.

Preferred Experience

• Backend development experience with Node.js, Java, Kotlin, or similar.
• Familiarity with large-scale SaaS environments and cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Knowledge of search technologies, information retrieval, AI-driven products, or data-intensive user experiences.
• Exposure to experimentation frameworks, product analytics, performance monitoring, or frontend optimization.
• Experience contributing to shared component libraries or design systems.
