Role Overview

We are looking for an accomplished Software Engineer with expertise in Ruby to join our client's innovative team on a full-time, fully remote basis. The position centers on evaluating large language models by creating datasets and benchmarks to mimic real-world software engineering tasks. Candidates should have a robust background in Ruby development, experience handling complex codebases, and enthusiasm for advancing AI-powered software solutions. Close collaboration with AI research teams will allow you to contribute to projects enhancing LLM capabilities in areas such as debugging and code completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and prioritize issues from prominent open-source GitHub repositories to find appropriate scenarios for LLM evaluation.
• Set up and configure code bases, including Docker container creation and environment preparation, to guarantee reproducible testing setups.
• Evaluate unit testing coverage and code quality metrics to benchmark software health and resilience.
• Modify, execute, and debug Ruby applications locally for assessing LLM performance in bug fixing, autocompletion, and related tasks.
• Work collaboratively with AI research teams to select challenging repositories and problems for rigorous model testing.
• Document insights, establish testing processes, and participate in ongoing refinement of evaluation methods.

Candidate Qualifications

• Minimum three years' professional experience in software engineering with strong skills in Ruby and Ruby on Rails.
• Proficient with version control systems like Git and container technologies such as Docker.
• Experience in configuring reliable, repeatable software pipelines and workflows.
• Ability to comprehend, run, change, and test complex, real-world codebases locally.
• Familiarity with Ruby testing frameworks such as RSpec and Minitest and gem management via Bundler.
• Prior open-source contributions or experience assessing open-source projects is a notable advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, and capability to work independently in a remote setup.
