Job description
Overview
This position is for a Software Engineer to join Cisco's Product Sizing and Packaging (PSP) team, focused on designing tailored infrastructure solutions that meet Splunk Enterprise Cloud customers' workload needs efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain new features and APIs to deliver enhanced value to customers.
- Build backend systems translating customer subscription information into precise cloud infrastructure sizing and automated deployment parameters.
- Break down complex assignments into manageable components to improve execution efficiency.
- Continuously improve team productivity by refining existing tools and process workflows.
- Participate actively in design discussions and conduct thorough code reviews to encourage collaborative development.
- Provide critical support through an on-call rotation, addressing customer issues and urgent incidents promptly beyond normal business hours.
Qualifications and Skills
- A Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree with no experience required.
- Fundamental understanding of backend technologies such as Go and Python, or related ecosystems, possibly gained through academic projects or internships.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts clearly across diverse functional teams.
