Job Overview
Join Graphcore’s Software Infrastructure team, where you will play a key role in scaling and managing the infrastructure essential to their ML Software components. Your work will focus on creating tools and services that aid the entire software team, improving the build, testing, deployment, and product integration of their Machine Learning Software stack. Working with high-performance computing AI platforms, you will gain valuable experience in distributed systems.
The Team
This position is within the newly established Build Engineering team, part of the Software Operations division. This team concentrates on the comprehensive build and integration processes for the ML software stack. You will collaborate closely with QA and development teams to ensure robust build procedures, maintain reproducibility in secure environments, and validate the integration of the software components.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop internal tooling for building, testing, and integrating the Machine Learning Software Stack.
- Create and improve tools and workflows supporting software release processes.
- Advise developers on optimal build practices and dependency handling.
- Regularly communicate with developers, technology leads, and architects regarding the ML software ecosystem.
- Work closely with QA teams to identify and resolve integration challenges.
- Contribute code fixes and improvements to the ML Software Stack.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or comparable programming languages.
- Solid understanding of software build processes and frameworks.
- Experience operating within Linux environments.
- Strong communication capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with remote caching and execution tools, such as Bazel.
- Experience using build automation tools like CMake.
- Knowledge of testing frameworks, including PyTest or GoogleTest.
- Hands-on with integration tools such as Buildstream.
- Exposure to software development lifecycle methodologies.
- Experience with container technologies like Docker or Podman.
- Understanding of software architectural design patterns.
