About the Role

Join JPMorganChase as a Software Engineer III within their Commercial & Investment Bank Identity Engineering team, working on developing secure, next-generation authentication and authorization platforms that support some of the world's leading corporations, governments, and institutions. This role focuses on enhancing identity and access management systems crossing multiple customer and enterprise channels, combining security innovation with superior customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and modernize secure authentication and authorization frameworks that comply with open standards and serve diverse platforms.
  • Evaluate, prototype, and integrate internal and vendor-based user authentication technologies including biometric and anti-fraud capabilities.
  • Develop API and SDK integrations utilizing protocols such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and SAML.
  • Collaborate with internationally distributed engineering teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions aligned with business objectives.
  • Enhance software development lifecycle efficiency through strong coding standards, quality practices, and the use of enterprise-approved AI development tools.
  • Lead by example in technical design, development, testing, and code quality standards, leveraging AI tools responsibly to improve coding productivity and outputs.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Formal education or certification in software engineering and considerable applied experience.
  • Proficiency in general-purpose programming languages with a strong emphasis on Java.
  • Sound understanding of application and data architecture concepts, including design patterns and business process integration.
  • Experience with cloud-native development on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Strong collaboration skills within cross-cultural and global teams.
  • Ability to adapt to multiple technology stacks and application settings.
  • Experience utilizing enterprise-authorized AI tools for software development tasks, with the ability to critically assess AI-generated outputs.
  • Knowledge of responsible AI use considerations, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security protocols.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with modern authentication protocols like OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, and federated identity solutions.
  • Experience integrating anti-fraud technologies or biometric authentication in customer-facing applications.
  • Background in working within regulated financial services or similarly complex enterprise environments.
  • Understanding of identity and access management platforms or relevant vendor solutions.
  • Knowledge of API security best practices and SDK integration techniques.
