Overview

Join a team dedicated to enhancing process optimization and operational excellence within Merchant Services. The goal is to improve client experiences while minimizing process risks by simplifying workflows and enforcing robust control mechanisms.

Role Summary

As a Process Optimization and Assurance Associate, you will collaborate with leadership across Merchant Services, Client Onboarding and Servicing, and Control Management. Your focus will be identifying improvement possibilities, analyzing data, and facilitating transformation initiatives. You will craft executive-level communications and foster strong relationships to ensure measurable advancements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess critical business workflows to pinpoint areas for improvement and suggest automation solutions (like Alteryx or other authorized software) to reduce manual interactions and enhance control and reporting effectiveness.
  • Maintain ongoing process risk evaluations by ensuring thorough and consistent documentation of controls and emphasizing quality through error prevention, accurate data, and disciplined record keeping.
  • Collaborate with business and Control Management teams to prepare for CCOR reviews, audits, and walkthroughs, validating data samples and procedures, and delivering timely, evidence-supported responses to Requests for Information.
  • Oversee governance processes related to issues, action plans, and risk events by monitoring progress, managing escalations, reporting statuses, and leading root cause analysis and after-action review efforts to resolution.
  • Drive reduction in quality control/quality assurance errors by performing remediation testing confirming corrections are effective and enduring.
  • Maintain engagement routines, such as scorecards and meetings, to inform stakeholders about control performance, risk developments, and remediation status.
  • Create and update process diagrams, workflows, and documentation; analyze outcomes; and deliver clear recommendations that influence leadership decisions through well-structured narratives, including improvements to data and reporting supporting migration oversight and consistent controls.
  • Enhance onboarding and servicing frameworks with a focus on client satisfaction and growth, promoting streamlined, control-focused processes throughout the client lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in Merchant Services with comprehensive understanding of daily operations in Client Onboarding and Servicing.
  • Detail-oriented and control-focused approach, ensuring quality evidence and strict compliance with documented procedures.
  • Strong discipline in managing data inputs, documentation consistency, and traceability of outputs.
  • Ownership mentality in operations, including effective milestone tracking, early issue escalation, and consistent follow-through to deliverables.
  • Client-first perspective that emphasizes adoption, successful ramp-up, and holistic client journey improvements.
  • Commitment to continuous process improvement through root cause detection, reduction of recurrent defects, and verification of remedial actions.
  • Collaborative delivery style capable of partnering well with business stakeholders and Control Management, adopting agile methodologies.
  • Application of Lean Six Sigma and systems thinking to identify end-to-end performance issues and prioritize impactful, feasible enhancements.
