Software Engineer (C/C++)

About the Role

Join a dynamic and expanding R&D team focusing on cutting-edge network emulation products designed to test system performance and reliability. As a Software Engineer working primarily from Stevenage with a hybrid approach (two days per week onsite), you will take full ownership of high-performance backend systems, influencing architecture and enhancing system scalability while creating effective solutions to complex technical challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and sustain high-performance backend software components.
• Translate detailed technical requirements into scalable and maintainable code.
• Participate actively in architectural decisions to improve system robustness.
• Ensure timely delivery of quality software compliant with project standards.
• Work collaboratively with product teams and other functions to achieve objectives.

Candidate Profile

• Proficient in C and C++ programming with a strong foundation in object-oriented design principles.
• Experienced in Linux development environments utilizing GNU tools such as gcc and gdb.
• Knowledgeable in network programming and managing multithreaded applications.
• Demonstrated capability to mentor peers and support junior engineering team members.
