Role Overview

We are searching for a Backend Software Engineer to join our engineering team in Bengaluru. This individual will design, develop, and implement advanced integrations at a rapid pace to connect project44 to worldwide logistics networks. The role involves working in a dynamic Agile setting with a focus on maintaining and enhancing our supply chain visibility platform within a multi-cloud environment (primarily AWS and GCP, with appreciation for Azure).

Key Responsibilities

• Develop cutting-edge integrations to broaden the network of carriers and customers connected to project44.
• Manage integrations throughout their full lifecycle.
• Operate, sustain, and continuously enhance the supply chain visibility platform owned by your team.
• Construct systems operating in multi-cloud environments, leveraging AWS, GCP, or similar platforms.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with various teams to resolve complex challenges.
• Share accountability for all aspects of software delivery, including development, operations, and testing.
• Participate in on-call rotations to maintain and support team-owned systems.
• Invest in developing tools, monitoring, and automation to improve the on-call experience for your team.

Candidate Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of professional experience designing large-scale, real-time or near real-time cloud-based systems.
• Strong programming and debugging abilities, particularly with Java.
• Experience building scalable Java microservices.
• Familiarity with databases, preferably PostgreSQL or other SQL databases.
• Knowledge of event stores and stream-processing technologies such as Kafka or Kinesis.
• Experience working within Agile software development environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience investigating and working with extensive, complex codebases.
• Background in designing APIs and web services (REST, OpenAPI/Swagger).
• Hands-on experience with container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Interest and experience in database technologies including DynamoDB, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.
• Analytical problem-solving mindset.
• Self-motivation and maintaining a high work tempo while owning responsibility for deliverables.
• Ability to communicate ideas clearly and resilience to overcome setbacks.

Work Environment and Culture
