As Software Development Manager, you will lead engineering efforts focused on delivering exceptional web client experiences for millions of users worldwide. You’ll manage and mentor a team of software engineers, oversee the technical delivery and quality of the web application, and implement AI-driven techniques to accelerate development and testing workflows.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery and quality assurance of the Prime Video Web Client, balancing customer satisfaction with business goals.
- Manage, mentor, and support a team of software engineers, providing clear direction and removing obstacles to improve engineering standards.
- Apply artificial intelligence strategies to enhance testing and development processes across various browsers and devices.
- Develop and maintain systems to monitor software performance, user experience, and operational health, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including product management, design, and platform engineering teams to determine and execute the Web Client roadmap.

Candidate Qualifications
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies including coding standards, code review, version control, build processes, testing, certification, and live operations.
- Substantial engineering experience, particularly in defining and developing multi-tier web services.
- Proven track record working within engineering teams and managing software engineering personnel.
- Experience designing or architecting systems considering design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
- Strong ability to collaborate with product or program management teams.
- Preferred: Expertise in recruiting, hiring, coaching, and developing teams of software engineers to boost their effectiveness and capabilities.
- Preferred: Experience communicating complex software features, technical designs, and product strategies to users, technical teams, and executive leadership.
