About the Role

Join Amazon's Seller Fees Tech (SFT) team in Bangalore as a Software Development Manager (SDM) leading a transformative journey to redesign financial systems that manage fees, incentives, and rewards for over two million global sellers. This new organization, launched in October 2025, provides full end-to-end ownership for architecture, technical strategy, and delivery milestones across four core charters entirely driven from Bangalore.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a team of 10-12 software engineers within a 50-member cross-functional group composed of engineers, business intelligence engineers, data scientists, applied scientists, and product managers, all working co-located in Bangalore. Collaborate closely with product, business, finance, and operations partners to own delivery and define long-term platform direction. Spearhead foundational architecture overhaul efforts in Incentives, Fee Change Management Platform, Fee Expansion, and AWD Fees charters by designing scalable, reliable systems that replace legacy batch processes with event-driven engines and self-service tooling, enhancing fee infrastructure for new markets and programs.

Technical Initiatives

Your teams will develop high-scale systems that handle billions of financial transactions requiring accuracy, scalability, and low latency. AI-assisted tools will be integrated deeply into configuration pipelines, anomaly detection, and pre-launch validations, making generative AI a pivotal element of the platform to increase engineering efficiency and product differentiation.

What This Role Offers

  • Complete ownership of the technical vision, architecture decisions, and team strategy.
  • A dense cross-functional collaboration environment supporting rapid delivery and growth.
  • High-stakes projects with visibility up to executive leadership influencing global marketplace expansion.
  • An opportunity to shape a new organization's foundations during a multi-year transformation.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Successful candidates are passionate about transformative leadership beyond routine execution. They demonstrate technical mastery and broad stakeholder engagement, can fluently communicate complex risks and designs to executives and engineers, foster trust within diverse teams, and thrive on clarity-building under uncertainty.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years managing engineering teams.
  • At least seven years of engineering experience.
  • Over eight years leading multi-tier web service development.
  • Strong grasp of full software lifecycle practices including coding standards, code review, version control, build processes, testing, certification, and live operations.
  • Track record working with product or program management teams.
  • Proven skills designing and architecting reliable, scalable systems with modern design patterns.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience effectively communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leaders to gather requirements, describe product features, and influence technical strategy.
  • A history of recruiting, mentoring, coaching, and growing engineering teams to improve skill and productivity.
