About the Role
Join the Amazon Container Services team to build the future of serverless containers on AWS Fargate. The ECS Link team seeks a Software Development Manager to lead the team responsible for managing the software stack that handles the lifecycle of container tasks used by major AWS services. ECS allows customers to run containerized applications without managing servers by automating scaling, patching, and security.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the ECS Storage and Networking group, overseeing infrastructure management for running ECS workloads, including capacity planning, patching, and efficiency improvements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 3 years experience managing engineering teams.
- At least 7 years of direct engineering work experience.
- 3+ years designing or architecting new and existing systems with a focus on design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
- 8+ years experience leading design and development of multi-tier web services.
- Experience managing mission-critical customer-facing services.
- Familiarity with engineering best practices for full software development lifecycle, such as coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build systems, testing, certification, and operational support.
- Experience collaborating with product and program management teams.
- Strong communication skills to engage users, technical teams, and leadership for gathering requirements and defining product and technical strategies.
- Experience recruiting, mentoring, and developing software engineering teams to enhance their skills and effectiveness.
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related disciplines.
- At least 1 year developing large-scale, multi-tier distributed software systems using service-oriented architecture.
