Job description
Role Overview
The Ads Sales Technology team designs and builds applications that empower advertisers to maximize their benefits from advertising products. This leadership role involves crafting the vision for your team, fostering team growth, hiring key talent, and defining the technology roadmap in close collaboration with Principal Engineers and Product Managers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and nurture engineering teams focused on Ads technologies by overseeing hiring, retention, performance, mentoring, and skill development.
- Analyze complex technical and business requirements, effectively communicate risks and solutions to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Set the team's vision and focus on delivering projects on time, managing operational tasks and on-call rotations.
- Collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams and leadership, including deep technical engagement as necessary, coordinating efforts with worldwide counterparts.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years experience in engineering roles.
- At least 5 years managing engineering teams.
- Over 8 years experience designing, planning, developing, and delivering consumer-facing software.
- Strong background partnering with product or program management teams.
- Proven ability managing multiple concurrent projects and development teams within Agile environments.
Preferred Experience
- Expertise designing and developing high-scale, high-traffic applications.
- Extensive experience leading multi-tier web services development for 8+ years.
- Familiarity with engineering lifecycle processes, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build automation, testing, certification, and production operations.
- Experience architecting systems with a focus on design patterns, reliability, and scalability.
- Strong communication skills with users, technical teams, and senior leadership regarding requirements, product features, technical design, and strategy.
- Proficient at recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing software engineers to enhance their skills and productivity.
