About the Role
The Selling Partner Identity Verification (SPIV) team is dedicated to ensuring that Amazon remains a secure and trustworthy platform for buying and selling. This mission is achieved by leveraging technology, data analytics, and scientific methods to build confidence with both customers and selling partners. The team manages products that facilitate global registration and verification of sellers’ identities to foster marketplace growth and trust. This includes handling high-traffic registration systems and simplifying the onboarding process for sellers expanding globally.
Key Responsibilities
As a Software Development Manager for SPIV, you will lead teams responsible for designing, developing, and delivering innovative solutions across large-scale distributed systems. Your role involves shaping technical strategy, ensuring software quality through agile methodologies, and fostering a culture of excellence. You will guide the engineering team by making critical design decisions, managing resources, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to drive impactful outcomes.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in software engineering.
- Minimum 3 years managing engineering teams.
- Over 8 years leading the development of multi-tier web services.
- Comprehensive knowledge of software, hardware, and network development life cycles including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certifications, and live operations.
- Experience working closely with product and program management teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication skills for engaging with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to gather requirements, discuss product features, and formulate strategic plans.
- Proven track record in recruiting, mentoring, and coaching software engineers to enhance their technical capabilities and productivity.
