About the Role
You will become part of AWS Utility Computing (UC), a division responsible for delivering innovative products and foundational cloud services like Amazon S3 and EC2. The role centers on developing and managing a variety of critical AWS services including Compute, Database, Storage, IoT, Platform, and Productivity Apps. You will also support customers that need specialized security solutions in their cloud environments.
As a Software Development Engineer on the Amazon DynamoDB team, you will contribute to a powerful NoSQL database service designed to provide single-digit millisecond latency at any scale. DynamoDB supports petabytes of data, replicates tables globally, streams massive data updates, backs up enormous data volumes quickly, and encrypts data without degrading performance. It serves some of the world's fastest growing businesses and large enterprises handling mission-critical workloads.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the entire software development lifecycle, including gathering requirements, designing, implementing, reviewing code, launching incremental features, maintaining operations, mentoring team members, and driving continuous improvements on one of the largest distributed database systems globally.

Qualifications
- Experience with at least one programming language
- Over 3 years’ experience developing complex software systems
- At least 2 years of hands-on design or architectural experience including design patterns, scalability, and reliability of existing or new systems
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years experience managing the complete software development lifecycle, encompassing coding standards, code reviews, source control, build and testing processes, and operations
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent field
