Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned Software Architect to lead the design and ongoing development of our technical architecture for retail sector information products. These include solutions in e-commerce order management systems (OMS), store point-of-sale (POS), distribution logistics, and financial workflows. You will define integration strategies across systems and establish data flow protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and continually refine the technical framework of retail information software encompassing e-commerce OMS, store POS, distribution, and finance modules;
- Lead the evaluation and selection of critical technologies and foundational frameworks, ensuring system scalability, capacity for high concurrency, security robustness, and reliable availability; document architectures and technical decisions thoroughly;
- Engage early in project requirement reviews to assess technical viability and cost implications; support project teams in overcoming technology challenges during design, configuration, and rollout phases;
- Define and advocate for best practices in development such as coding guidelines, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), automated testing protocols, as well as monitoring and alerting systems; provide mentorship on microservices and cloud-native implementations;
- Stay abreast of innovations in the retail technology space including omni-channel platforms, data middleware, and intelligent replenishment processes, recommending architectural enhancements aligned with business expansion; lead cleanup of technical debt and system reengineering efforts;
- Work collaboratively with product management, implementation, and operations teams to ensure that architectural solutions align with business requirements and delivery schedules, offering technical oversight throughout the deployment lifecycle.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines;
- Brings at least seven years of experience in software development and architectural design, including a minimum of three years dedicated to the Software Architect role;
- Experience engaging with retail industry information systems, preferably in domains such as apparel, home furnishings, cosmetics, jewelry, or food industries, is advantageous;
- Demonstrated ability to lead technology selection and core framework development with focus on scalability, high concurrency, security, and availability;
- Skilled in evaluating project requirements early to advise on technical feasibility and cost efficiency;
- Experienced in setting and promoting development standards encompassing coding norms, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and real-time monitoring;
- Effective collaborator who works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure architectural consistency with business objectives and delivery timelines.
