Role Purpose and Responsibilities

• Serve as a key worker for assigned residents where applicable, providing individualized support.
• Assist residents with their daily plans and help achieve personal goals and educational objectives.
• Support residents in developing living skills such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, attending appointments, and facilitating family visits.
• Participate as a member of the on-floor duty team; may be tasked with coordinating shifts and supervising staff under their direction.
• Collaborate closely with the person in charge and the Multi-Disciplinary Team to ensure comprehensive service delivery to residents.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Must hold a level 7 or higher qualification qualifying for Social Care Worker registration with CORU.
• Experience working in residential, respite, or day service settings with individuals having intellectual disabilities.
• Familiarity with quality assurance practices and their implementation in service provision.
• Knowledge of Person Centred Planning methodologies.
• Understanding of clinical and human resource policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
• Awareness of National Disability Standards as set by HIQA.

Working Hours and Salary

The position involves working seven 12-hour shifts over a 14-day cycle. The salary range is €21.65 to €25.65 per hour, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and years of service.
