About the Position

Banks Lane Junior School, located in Stockport, is seeking a committed Site Supervisor to join their dedicated team. This position is essential to ensuring the smooth, safe, and well-maintained operation of the school premises throughout the year. The role is permanent and offers 32.5 hours per week, worked as a split shift from 7:00 am to 10:00 am and 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm, with some possible flexibility around these hours.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage site security by opening and locking the school buildings and grounds daily.
  • Conduct minor maintenance including repairs and routine safety inspections across the school.
  • Perform daily cleaning duties and coordinate the cleaning team to uphold high hygiene standards.
  • Maintain the outdoor areas, walkways, and playgrounds ensuring they are tidy and safe, including applying grit during winter conditions.
  • Provide general support such as moving furniture, receiving deliveries, and preparing halls for assemblies or events.

Candidate Profile

  • Practical individual with basic DIY and maintenance skills.
  • Experience in cleaning or caretaking roles is preferred; prior work in a school environment is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Reliable and committed to sustaining a safe environment for children.
  • Personable, flexible, and willing to be actively involved in the broader school community.
