Role Overview
This position combines software and systems engineering to manage a high-performance, large-scale distributed infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with product engineers throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure TikTok Shop services are reliable, fault-tolerant, scalable, and cost-efficient. Leveraging your software engineering skills, you will develop platforms and tools to optimize operational and engineering efficiencies, emphasizing observability, performance, and maintainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) solutions tailored to TikTok Shop's business needs, collaborating across teams, time zones, and regions.
- Develop disaster recovery capabilities, delivering comprehensive solutions to maintain service continuity during critical failures.
- Continuously improve TikTok Shop’s SRE core functions focusing on stability, efficiency, cost management, and security.
- Operate and analyze key performance metrics including incident recall rate, service level indicators, mean time to detect and recover, and resource consumption.
- Design and implement maintenance tools and platform solutions to strengthen platform infrastructure.
- Participate in on-call rotations to address performance and availability issues promptly, minimizing downtime.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Programming, System Analysis, or related fields.
- Minimum five years of experience programming in languages like Java, C++, or Go, or scripting with Shell or Python.
- Knowledge of e-commerce business operations, typical network and access layer faults, and related infrastructure development experience.
- Expertise in operating, deploying, maintaining high availability, and ensuring quality of large distributed systems, along with strong problem-solving ability and accountability.
